Other Expenses

Additional Costs to Consider

Some expenses associated with completing credentialing requirements are separate from the CPEI application fee.

Academic Transcripts

Colleges, universities or other educational institutions may charge their own fees for providing transcripts.

Background Check

Candidates who are required to obtain a background check may be responsible for the cost charged by the screening provider.

Religious Endorsement

A denomination, faith group or endorsing organization may establish its own requirements or fees for ecclesiastical or religious endorsement.

Professional Documentation

Candidates may encounter other costs related to obtaining or preparing documentation required for their particular credentialing pathway.

After Credentialing

Annual dues and continuing requirements

CPEI credentials have ongoing maintenance requirements. Credentialed chaplains are required to complete applicable continuing education and pay annual dues.

Supervisor-Educators and Training Supervisor-Educators also have continuing education, faculty-participation and annual dues requirements.

Maintaining Your Credentials

Important

Payment does not guarantee credentialing.

Submitting an application and paying the applicable credentialing fee does not guarantee that a candidate will receive a CPEI credential.

Candidates must meet the applicable educational, professional, endorsement, documentation and competency requirements and successfully complete the required credentialing review process.
