The purpose of certification through CPEI is to:

• Demonstrate to the public and employers that students have met the high level of standards for education, training, and experience
• Enhances one’s professional reputation and credibility and provides one with a sense of personal accomplishment; and
• Communicate a commitment to an enforceable Code of Ethics
