STOTS offers two opportunities for CPE each year, but neither is open to the general public. First – each summer term – STOTS offers an accredited 12-week intensive unit for select (matriculated) Master of Divinity students in between their second and third years. The unit is held in concurrence with enrollment in the requisite second-year summer parish internship experience for Master of Divinity students. Second – during the Fall semester each year, STOTS offers an accredited 16-week extended unit to alumni clergy. At this time, there are no exceptions to either the “alumni” or “clergy” prerequisites for application to this Fall unit.

The Scientia Institute for Christian Studies was envisioned in 2012 and established in 2023, receiving accreditation in its first year. Our curriculum, grounded in sound biblical principles rather than religious tradition or legalism, is taught by educators with over 15 years of experience in chaplaincy. Our mission is to educate students in the fundamental disciplines of pastoral care, with a focus on the foundations of chaplaincy and servant leadership. This education is designed to equip learners to effectively address the needs of our communities and spread the knowledge and Gospel of Christ through instruction and impartation.

Clint Calvert, D.Min, supports adults by integrating over 20 years of pastoral care with predictive analytics to guide others through vocational transitions. As a CPE TSE, Clint has trained thirty chaplains and ten supervisory candidates. Through 2nd Act Career Services, he actively multiplies his impact by educating chaplains. His approach ensures that individuals navigate disorienting career shifts with spiritual depth, psychological clarity, and structured, values-aligned action plans.
