Biographical Info
Located in Frederick, Maryland and established in 2010, our CPE center offers three levels of training:
Internship: 12 weeks or 16 weeks, 400 supervised hours
Residency: 12 months, 1,600+ supervised hours
Supervisory Education: 24 (maximum) months of advanced training
Areas of focus include hospital chaplaincy, hospice and palliative care, oncology, military, and community veterans’ ministry.
Director: The Rev. Dr. Pothin Ngyele, D.Min, Ph.M, M.Div, BCC-HPC – Manager of Pastoral-Spiritual Care and Clinical Pastoral Education Director.
Biographical Info
Freeman Health System offers the opportunity to learn through the provision of pastoral care to patients, families, and staff. Hospital ministry challenges the student to minister to persons experiencing trauma, death, grief, and life uncertainties. Students, alongside the chaplains, will be caring for persons of strong faith, differing faith, questioning faith, and no faith. Hospital ministry helps students better understand themselves and prepares them to care for others in and outside the healthcare setting.
